Muisca meaning of Nobsa:
"NOBSA IS A NOBLE CITY. in the language, to weave is to create. N + O is the hallmark of those who have already traveled around the circle of YNUK and refers to elderly weavers in retirement. weavers were considered noble and imperative to expressing sacred geometric designs in their work. each woven piece was a book."

Description:
Nobsa is one of the 13 towns of Sugamuxi's province.

Town's full size= 53 km2 (the size of Bermuda -UK-).

Main economic activities: Agriculture, raising livestock, and industrial production.

Nobsa's wool artisans
Nobsa, or town of woolen treasures, is a peaceful place recognized worldwide for its wool artisans, wood furniture, vineyard and wines, and gorgeous trekking paths.
How to get here:
By bus: From Sogamoso's bus Terminal (west of Sogamoso), every 15 minutes.

By car: Just follow the route Sogamoso - Nobsa, it takes around 15 min. 
​

  • The town itself has an old world charm that is well preserved and inviting.
  • It has won the Prettiest Town in Boyacá award multiple times and has an impresive cathedral.
  • It is an important site of the wood furniture industry.
  • Hosts yearly celebrations that are genuine, rural, and a lovely experience.
  • It is the location of the main vineyard of Sugamuxi, Punta Larga which offers some of Colombian's best Pinot Noirs and Rieslings. 
  • Attractive trekking paths.
