In our case it's not just nature, but also culturally cyclism has been well linked to our people (and Sugamuxi/Boyacá are among a very few zones in Colombia -three or four more- where this has happened for many years).
With that being said, our binomium (i) nature/culture -tropical country, traditions, Andes, Boyacá, Sugamuxi, and mild weather- and (ii) cyclism, has proben to be strong enough to be shown as a worldwide highlight, for certain activities and groups of people.
It makes me think of a question that may potentially develop an interesting and helpful list of attention inside Green and/or Sustainable Destinations for certain tourism and other type of green/sustainable activities: ¿What nature/culture in your destination connects best with, to produce a worldwide highlight binomium (e.g. in sports, arts)?
Oh, by the way... Nairo has won quite a good number of international competitions (and many more cyclists from our region are constantly close to top qualified), no wonder one of his "secrets" is the region where he trains, close to the clouds like our #LakeTota or lake in the clouds at 3015m high (see: Lake Tota overview).
