Locals in Ocetá surroundings
With Páramo de Ocetá, the province of Sugamuxi has one of the most valuable spots and nature/culture highlights that any region in Colombia would love to have: An astonishing páramo, a giant water sponge, lovely towns surrounding it, warming people in and about, a sacred land for our indigenous culture the Muiscas, long but doable treks to get in, multiple possibilities for multiple interests when you visit that páramo (biology, fauna, flora, photography, scenery, silence, water, changeable weather, Andes, wetlands, lagoons, and more), and the chance to get inmerse in which it is one clear answer of why Sugamuxi is so unique.

Welcome to this beautiful area of Sugamuxi, come and stay as long as you want for a proper understanding not just of Ocetá, but all what this region has to offer.

Giulia Candussi*
For the last 3 weeks, until today, we had the significant collaboration from Giulia Candussi (Italy), a photo-journalist from La Nuova Venezia newspaper and also a freelance international photographer, who was visually covering many aspects (nature & culture) of Sugamuxi for our site, which will soon appear in the VisitSugamuxi Forum.

In her blog, she already made a good number of posts, e.g. about our Muisca culture, about Sogamoso, about coal mining, about our ruanas, about markets, about our ancient rock art, about the chircales, and many more.

From here, we want to ratify to her our gratitude for her effort and important voluntary help to VisitSugamuxi, through the link of the environmental NGO Fundación Montecito and the generous support of Hostel Finca San Pedro in Sogamoso.
